A New Cost-Benefit Economic Model Approach of Hemodialyzer Reuse

In this study, a new cost-benefit economic model for hemodialyzer reuse has been developed considering all of the direct costs (dialyzer price, disinfection fluid reverse osmosis water cost, personnel, and miscellaneous) as well number disinfections applied to hemodialyzer. The maximum disinfections/reuses different models was estimated using statistical analysis based on information obtained from total 60 adult patients maintenance hemodialysis approximately 4 years; hospital in Santiago de Cuba province, Cuba. An equal treatments (100) evaluated each including 2,800 reuses. cost savings reuse/disinfection approach is compared with single-use modality.
